Rawa                                  1cup
Chana dal                            1 tbsp
Urad dal                              1/2 tbsp
Red chilli whole                    3-4
Mustard seeds ground          1 tsp
Curry leaves                         a few
Onion chopped                     1 medium
Ginger ground                       2"
Green chillies chopped          2-3
Lemon juice                          1 tbsp
Oil                                        2tbsp
Water                                   2 cups
Salt                                       As per taste


  • Heat the oil in wok and when it starts smoking, add urad dal,chana dal, mustard seeds and red chillies.
  • Fry till they are brown.
  • Add onion, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves. fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add rawa, salt and water. Keep stirring and cook till the rawa leaves the sides of the wok and comes together.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add lemon juice ( optional) and mix well thoroughly. Serve hot.
