SAMBAR

Ingredients

Tuwar daal - 250 gm
Onion- 1/2 cup thin sliced
Red pumpkin- 50 gm
Drum stick-  2 pices
Potato- 1 large diced
Dudhi( Lauki)- 1/2 cup diced
Green chilli- 3
Curry leaves- 2 sticks
Salt as per taste
Tamarind juice - 1/2 cup
 Mustard seed- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Coriander Powder- 1 tsp 
Red chilli powder- As per requirment
Sambar Powder-  3 Tsp
Hing-  1/2 tsp
3 Red chilli

Method
     

  • In a pressure cooker mix Tuwar daa, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Coriander powder, hing, salt and Sambar masala, curry leaves and cook till 2-3 whistle.
  • In a  vessels cook all vegetables with salt and turmeric powder. 
  • Now mix this well cooked vegetables in to tuwar daal add tamarind juice and little water and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Heat a pan put 3 tbsp oil add mustard seeds, finely copped onion, Red chilli and curry leaves saute till onion gets brown mix it in sambar.
  • Serve with Idali or dosa.
Note- You can add separately fried Ladies finger in it .
