Ingredients
1 kg Mutton
1/2 kg Onion sliced
1 cup Mustard Oil
3 Green chillies chopped
4 tbsp Gralic chopped
3 tbsp Ginger chopped
3 -4 Tomatoes chopped
1 1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp coriander powder
2 tsp Gram Masala
Salt to taste
3-4 bay leaves
2-3 Broken dry red chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
Coriander leaves chopped
Half Lemon Juice
Method
- Marinate the mutton in juice of half Lemon juice for half an hour.
- Heat the mustard oil in a cooker add bay leaves, dry red chillies, cumin seeds and then add sliced onions.
- Fry the onions till they turn pink in colour. Add Chopped green chillies, ginger, garlic and fry till onion turn light brown.
- Add turmeric powder and chopped tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes or till tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
- Add red chilli powder, coriander powder and saute for 2 minutes. Add the marinate mutton, gram masala, salt and water and mix well till all the masala coats mutton thoroughly. ( for 15 minutes).
- Add sufficient water ( approx 1 glass) cover with lid and cook for 8 whistle on high flame.
- Open only when the pressure released. Mix in half cup of coriander leaves and transfer to serving bowl.
- Garnish with remaining coriander leaves, tomato slices, lemon and serve.
